Dairy Assistant

Southern Dairy Hub is looking for a Dairy Assistant to join our experienced farm team at Wallacetown, near Invercargill.
You’ll work across the day-to-day operation of a 750-cow commercial dairy farm, while also gaining experience in a research and demonstration environment. With good infrastructure, modern technology and an experienced team around you, this is a great opportunity to build your skills and progress your dairy career.

Acting General Manager opportunity
Fixed-term | 6-9 months
3 days per week
Lead a nationally recognised dairy research and extension farm through an important transition period. This leadership role will provide continuity during a transition period while supporting the Hub’s ongoing delivery of practical dairy research, extension, and farm performance outcomes for southern farmers. The successful candidate will bring strong leadership capability, practical dairy sector knowledge, sound financial and operational management skills, and the ability to build confidence across staff, stakeholders, and the wider industry. The role is based at the Hub for three days per week (27 hours).
